Privacy notice

Short version: we collect what we need to quote and build your job, we do not sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.

1. Who is responsible

2. What we collect

When you send a request through this website: your name, phone number, email address, the job address or neighbourhood, the job type, whether you are a homeowner or a contractor, and anything you write in the notes.

Later, if the job goes ahead: photos, sketches, measurements and plans you send us, and the correspondence between us.

We do not ask for payment card numbers on this website, and we never ask for them by email.

3. Why we collect it

To reply to you, to quote the job, to build the model and takeoff, to deliver them, and to invoice. That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

4. Marketing email

Sending a request lets us reply about that request. If we later want to send you anything else — an offer, a newsletter — we will ask first, and every such message carries a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing never affects a job in progress.

5. Where it goes

A website request is delivered to our private team channel and to our email. Both run on services outside See It Built, and both may store data outside Canada, including in the United States. We keep the list of those services current and will name them on request.

6. Photos and site visits

Photos you send are used to build your model. We may show a finished model or render as a sample of our work — with your customer's name removed, and never with an address. Say the word and we will not use your job at all. See section 8 of the terms.

7. How long we keep it

We keep job records — the model, the takeoff, the measurements and our correspondence — indefinitely. A deck we modelled years ago is often the fastest way to answer a question about it, price a change, or settle a dispute about what was quoted.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will, except where we are required to keep something — an invoice for tax, for instance. Section 8 says how.

8. What you can ask for

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Write to info@seeitbuilt.ca and we will respond within 30 days. If we cannot delete something — because tax law requires we keep an invoice, for instance — we will tell you which part and why.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own — no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, no analytics. Nothing follows you to another website.

The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts and animation code from two public code libraries (cdnjs and jsDelivr). Loading a file from them means your browser contacts them, and they may log the request — the same as visiting any website. They set no cookies here.

If we ever add analytics, this section will say so before it goes live.

10. Security

We protect your information with reasonable safeguards. No system is perfect: if a breach ever puts you at real risk of significant harm, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.
