Terms of service

These terms apply to every model, render, material takeoff, cut list and share link delivered by See It Built. By submitting an intake form or accepting a delivery, you agree to them.

1. Who you are dealing with

See It Built is a business name of 780472 N.B. Inc., a New Brunswick corporation ("See It Built", "we", "us"). Every service is provided by the corporation and every contract is with the corporation — not with any individual who works for it. Reach us at info@seeitbuilt.ca.

2. What we provide

Visual 3D models and estimated material quantities, to help you see and estimate a job. We do not provide engineering, structural design, stamped drawings, permit drawings, construction drawings, code-compliance review, or any professional advice reserved to a licensed engineer or architect.

A model is a sales and estimating tool. It is not a construction document and must not be built from as though it were one.

3. Quantities are estimates

Material takeoffs and cut lists are estimates derived from the model and from the measurements, photos and information supplied to us. You are responsible for verifying all field measurements, quantities, cut lengths, spans and code requirements before ordering materials or starting work.

Some items are deliberately listed as outstanding rather than estimated — stair stringers, hardware counts and waste among them. Where an item is marked outstanding, no quantity has been calculated and none should be inferred.

4. Your information

A model and its takeoff are only as accurate as what you give us. We are not responsible for errors that follow from measurements, photos, plans or descriptions that are incomplete, out of date or wrong. If we visit a site to measure, that visit covers only what was visible and accessible on the day.

5. What it costs, and when you pay

We quote a fixed fee for each job before we start. The fee is confirmed in writing — a price shown on this website or mentioned in conversation is an indication until we accept the job.

Payment is due 30 days after the invoice date. No deposit is required. We invoice on delivery.

The first revision is included. Each further revision is $50. A revision means a change you ask for — correcting something we got wrong is not a revision and is never charged.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are extra and shown on the invoice.

6. Cancelling and refunds

Fees are non-refundable. The fee pays for the work of building the model and takeoff, and that work is done by the time you have them.

You can cancel before we start. Tell us before modelling begins and there is nothing to pay. Once we have started, the fee stands.

This does not affect section 5: if we got something wrong, we fix it, and fixing our own error is never a revision and never a charge.

7. Who owns the model

We keep ownership of the model files, the underlying model and our tools. On payment in full you get a licence to use the model, renders, takeoff and cut list for the job they were made for — including showing them to your own customer.

You may not resell them, present them as your own product, or use them as the basis of a competing service.

8. Showing work as samples

We may show a model or render as a sample of our work — on this website, in a portfolio or in a proposal. We remove your customer's name and we never publish an address. Tell us and we will not use your job at all, no reason needed.

9. Limit of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a job is limited to the fee paid for that job. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including wrong or excess material orders, restocking charges, delays, rework, or lost profit.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Share links

A share link lets a third party — a homeowner, say — view a model. It is view-only. Third parties may not rely on it for purchasing, construction, financing or any other decision, and have no claim against us arising from it. A link is unlisted, not secret: anyone you send it to can forward it.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify See It Built against claims by third parties arising from your use of a model, takeoff or share link, including work you or your subcontractors perform.

12. Your information and privacy

What we collect and what we do with it is set out in our privacy notice.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your job is the version in force on the day we accept it, and we will send you a copy on request.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of New Brunswick have jurisdiction.
